At Trefusis Fine Wool Merino & Poll Merino Stud our mission is to breed profitable dual purpose merinos that have good conformation, size and fertility, and have the ability to thrive in Tasmanian conditions and beyond.

We aim to breed Stud ewes that cut 7 kg and upwards of 18 to 18.5 micron wool which is bright, stylish and soft handling.

Trefusis Fine Wool Merino Stud have kindly donated 50 doses of Semen from Trefusis Poll 210106.

The PWS Stud Semen & Ram Sale will be held Tuesday 29th August 9am – Thursday 31st August 7.30pm.⁠ ⁠ Made possible by our event sponsor AuctionsPlus

This is the first time Trefusis has supported the very worthwhile Peter Westblade Scholarship with 50 doses of semen from their Top Poll Sire 210106. He was Junior Champion Ram at the Australian Sheep and Wool Show in July 2023. His Micron is 17.7, SD 2.8, CV 15.8, CF 99.8.

This Ram was also winner of the All Purpose Competition as Campbell Town Show in June, and Champion Poll Merino Ram at Sheepvention, Hamilton, Victoria in August. He is a modern day Poll Merino with a large frame and structurally very correct. He has a plain body that is well covered with bright, soft well crimped wool - which is what Trefusis is known for. He has a very pure head with a soft, broad muzzle and also ticks all the carcass and meat attributes.
