The Peter Westblade Scholarship aims to identify, train and develop the next generation of leaders amongst young men and women in the Australian sheep and wool industry.

Who can apply?
Any individual, aged between 18 and 30 years on January 1st 2023, who is currently (or aspiring to be) working in the Australian Sheep and Wool Industry
Applicants must be a resident of Australia.
Applicants must read, understand and agree to the terms & conditions associated with applying for the Peter Westblade Scholarship.
What to consider when applying?
The scholarship is looking for young people who meet the following criteria;
Aged 18 to 30
Do i have a passion for the sheep and wool industry?
Am i someone who is self-motivated?
Am i someone who wants to make a difference (no matter how small)?
Am i someone who sees a future in the sheep and wool industry?
Application process.
The Peter Westblade Scholarship application process is an important first step of the scholarship. It is important that you demonstrate initiative and commitment to a career in the sheep industry.
The written application is designed to give the interview panel an appreciation of who you are and what you aspire to do.

Next steps.
All application forms received by the closing date will be acknowledged by email or phone call.
Applications will then be assessed by the PWS Committee, who will create a shortlist of scholarship contenders for 2024.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in a phone interview in April 2024. The interview will be conducted by members of the PWS Committee and the Executive Officer.
Finalists will be notified directly, and the recipient(s) of the 2024 Peter Westblade Scholarship will be announced in May 2024 at the annual Peter Westblade Scholarship Ball, Wagga Wagga.
